About this Course

This is a second course in a series of two. After applying the strategies to develop yourself as a leader, this course will look at your audience and stakeholders, and emphasize how you can effectively influence them through your communication, your presentational skills and the key leadership traits you can develop. This course should ideally be embarked upon after Part 1.

Programme Curriculum

In this chapter, you will learn how to effectively communicate in order to get your message across and successfully influence others. We will talk about applications of project management to enhance these skills and look at a one very useful tool that will help you achieve your goals.
In this chapter you will get some of the best tips on presentation in both physical and virtual environments and learn how to harness them to influence others. We also discuss the difference between successful influencing and pushing one’s agenda inappropriately.
“In this chapter we will reflect on some learnings from the pandemic including crisis coping strategies to allow you to be at your best. We will investigate some of the qualities that are needed to cope in a crisis and how to develop them. We will thenexplore some coping strategies which are effective in a crisis, and how to apply them.”

About the expert

Caroline Stockmann

CEO, Association of Corporate Treasurers
Caroline Stockmann has been Chief Executive of the Association of Corporate Treasurers since February 2017. Prior to that, Caroline held the position of Chief Financial Officer at The British Council (the UK’s largest charity) and before that at Save the Children International. She has 25 years’ experience in senior finance, commercial and strategic posts at a number of international commercial organisations including Novartis Pharmaceuticals (Switzerland), Cadbury Schweppes, Granada plc and Unilever/ Bestfoods (Thailand, Netherlands and UK). Caroline trained with KPMG and is a Fellow (FCA) of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of England and Wales (ICAEW). She has an ICAEW Diploma in Charity Accounting and has filled numerous roles on boards over the years, with her current roles including being a member of the Finance and Investment Committee of the Elton John AIDS Foundation, Deputy Chair of the European Association of Corporate Treasurers and the International Group of Treasury Associations, as well as President of the National Association of Corporate Treasurers (US). Caroline is a linguist, musician, trained coach and passionate bell ringer, and is married with two children.
